Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AviCheck (avicheck.au), operated by Off The Ground Agency ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use this website.

Description of Service

AviCheck is a free, publicly accessible platform that aggregates and presents Australian aviation safety data sourced from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB). The platform makes aircraft registration details, safety investigation reports, and airworthiness directives searchable in a single interface. AviCheck is provided as a civic technology service at no cost to users.

Aviation Safety Disclaimer

AviCheck is for informational and reference purposes only. It is not a substitute for official aviation safety documentation and must not be used for operational decision-making.

  • Do not rely on AviCheck for flight planning, maintenance decisions, or regulatory compliance. Always verify aircraft registration status, airworthiness directive compliance, and safety investigation details directly with CASA or the ATSB.
  • AviCheck data may be incomplete, out of date, or contain transcription errors from the source records.
  • Airworthiness directive information on AviCheck does not replace the official CASA AD register. Compliance must be verified against the original CASA documentation.
  • Safety investigation summaries do not replace the full ATSB investigation reports. Always refer to the complete ATSB report for findings and safety recommendations.
  • AviCheck does not provide operational guidance, pilot advice, or maintenance instructions.

Data Accuracy and Sources

Aviation data displayed on AviCheck is sourced from:

CASA Aircraft Register

Aircraft registration details including registration marks, type, owner, operator, and base location. Published by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

ATSB Investigation Reports

Aviation accident and incident investigation summaries, findings, and safety recommendations. Published by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

CASA Airworthiness Directives

Mandatory safety-critical actions including inspections, modifications, and operational restrictions for specific aircraft types.

While we endeavour to present this data accurately, AviCheck does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or currency of any information displayed. For authoritative aviation safety information, always refer to the original CASA or ATSB source.

Acceptable Use

You may use AviCheck for lawful purposes including aviation research, safety awareness, journalism, and general information. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to AviCheck systems or infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download data in a manner that degrades service for other users
  • Misrepresent AviCheck data as official CASA, ATSB, or government communications
  • Use AviCheck data for operational flight planning or maintenance compliance without verifying against official sources
  • Use the platform for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms

Intellectual Property

The AviCheck platform, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Off The Ground Agency. Aviation data sourced from CASA and ATSB is publicly available government data and remains the property of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Limitation of Liability

AviCheck is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Off The Ground Agency shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or inability to use AviCheck, including but not limited to any decisions made based on data presented on the platform.
