About AviCheck

Australian aviation safety data, made searchable.

What is AviCheck?

AviCheck is an Australian aviation safety data platform that aggregates publicly available information from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) into a single, fast, searchable interface.

Pilots, operators, maintenance engineers, aviation enthusiasts, and safety professionals can use AviCheck to quickly look up:

  • Aircraft registration details — owner, operator, type, serial number, base location
  • Safety investigation reports — ATSB accident and incident reports with findings
  • Airworthiness directives — CASA mandatory compliance requirements by aircraft type

Data Sources

Built by Off The Ground Agency

AviCheck is built and maintained by Off The Ground Agency, an Australian civic technology lab that transforms open government data into transparent, accessible platforms.

AviCheck addresses a gap in aviation safety transparency — making CASA aircraft registration data and ATSB safety investigation reports searchable and accessible to the public, operators, and regulators.

AviCheck is part of the OTG Civic Tech Suite — five platforms covering government procurement, public health, housing affordability, aviation safety, and consumer protection.
